Question:
Is it appropriate to ask that guests with children leave them with
a sitter for the ceremony, as long as we provide daycare at the
ceremony site? ~Submitted by Lindsay
Answer: It is appropriate to
provide daycare at the ceremony. Give guests the word by enclosing
a separate card in their invitations notifying them that a nursery
and babysitting services will be provided for children under 6 for
example. I'm sure they'll be thrilled and will probably bring along
some extra toys to help keep their children occupied. Also, if any
of the parents have concerns about the type of care their children
will receive, they'll have ample time to contact you about the specifics.
You may also have one your RSVP have a spot for childcare and number
of children. You will want one childcare provider for every 5-6
children ages 2-6 and one for every 2-3 under two. Make sure your
wedding party and family members know that there will be child care
services for the children at the wedding so they can spread the
word if necessary.
